A-Peeps:
I am watching you take the quiz right now and am suffering from serious essay avoidance. I just thought I would take this moment to thank you for your hard work and all that you have brought to this class to make it what it is. I love it that we can work hard (you are working very hard) and take the time to go on a tangent. I know that the tangents can feel, well, random, but trust me in this: if you are comfortable in a rigorous class, you will learn more. Besides, the discussion and presentations in this class are tremendous! I was thoroughly impressed with the puppet shows and the Salon. A lot of you would perhaps prefer lectures and silent bookwork over these discussions, but the "weird" stuff will stick with you more and make you think about things more. I don't know what it is, but European history almost needs a stranger approach than US history. Maybe it is the fact that we deal with some odd (that is a nice word) characters leading the countries we study.
I know for certain that you are well-prepared for the upcoming exam in May. We are hitting the right content at the right pace while also focusing on essay and analytical skills. Tak and I have discussed it at length, and we feel that you guys will be ready come May.
Keep it up!

Ch 21 Quiz
A-Peeps:
It has been a long time since we've done an "identify and explain" quiz. We'll do another one tomorrow. :) Moreso than the MC quizzes, these really show me whether you "get it" or not. Besides, the format forces you to think on the fly, just like the exam. We'll take half of the class to do this, followed by the new VQ&D.
Also, it looks like we're going at the same pace that I did last year, which means that unless I cut something out (which might happen), the Cold War is going to get shorted again. What it really means is that you may have to do some work over the breaks. There were no post-WWII essay questions last year, which was lucky. I'm not counting on that happening again this year!
